Innovations and Collaborations in Housing Affordability
October 3-5, 2008
Phoenix, AZ
We are excited to have opened registration for this fall's conference; a collaboration between the Association for Community Design, the AIA Housing and Custom Residential (H&CR) Knowledge Community and AIA Arizona. The symposium will focus on innovative and collaborative efforts that are tackling housing affordability and creating thriving residential developments and communities.
The presentations and workshops at the symposium will address topics such as mixed-income developments, design and advocacy, sustainable and inclusive design for affordable housing, and housing design education in the schools among others. A half-day of tours to residential sites that illustrate the ideas and issues covered in the symposium will take place on the final day. A preliminary symposium schedule, and links to registration and transportation information are available here.
Call for Presentations
We will have a series of participant-led workshops, please submit ideas you have to cover work, issues, and questions that you feel would be of benefit to conference attendees by July 15th so that we can plan for these sessions. Priority will be given to workshop proposals over presentation proposals. Indicate if you would be willing to lead your workshop on the 2nd of October if we have more proposals than will fit in the morning sessions on the 3rd. Please submit a one page description of the material you would like to cover and how it relates to the conference theme to jodybeck@earthlink.net
