Our annual conference is quickly approaching, and we have an exciting range of speakers and topics from more technical concerns about construction detailing to more philosophical perspectives on sustainability, from working presentations of particular projects to updates on national housing policy, from important topics like accessibility to crucial discussions of advocacy. It's going to be a full few days and we hope you'll join us.
If you arrive on Thursday October 2nd, there is going to be informal meeting space from 3 to 5 in the afternoon and several discussions about next year's conference (we are already planning that), how ACD can be more active as a community of like-minded folk, and other organizational topics. Everyone's input and engagement is welcome, so please plan to join us if you can.
The deadline for getting a room in our hotel block is fast approaching and we have to give up our rooms on September 5th, one week from today. The hotel is sold out, and the rooms will be quickly gone after that. Please make your room reservations as soon as possible to ensure that you have space. To make your reservation, contact the hotel, (602) 307-9929. Mention that you are with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) conference to receive the group rate.
We have payed for a travel networking site again this year to facilitate room sharing. Sharing a hotel room is a great way to reduce the costs of the conference - both to you and to the environment. Please take advantage of this site if you don't already have a room mate.
