We are one week away from our annual conference, and if you haven't made plans to attend we hope you will do so. Our keynote speaker will be Alan Greenberger, the executive director of the Philadelphia Planning Commission. His talk is titled Planning for the Post-Induxtrial City: Initiatives from Philadelphia. He will address long-term growth strategies, issues of now-fallow land, connections between communities and a city's natural resources, understanding of current and future economic drivers, and how improved linkages between all are key to growth and success in a very competitive world. Also discussed “Urban Acupuncture” – a concept to describe how energy flows in cities and how, when it is blocked, both government and citizens have to step in to unblock it. He will be speaking at the Gleason Works Auditorium, 1000 University Avenue on Friday, June 5 • 8–9 pm
Some speaker bios can be found here if you would like to see who will be speaking at the conference.
