Convening RegistrationRegistration will be open prior to the tour start and give attendees an opportunity to get oriented, grab lunch nearby on their own and be on site for the tour departures. Space to leave any bags will be available if attendees are not able to check-in to accommodations before the day starts. For attendees arriving after the tours depart, registration will be open throughout the convening. On-site registration will be available but limited due to COVID precautions and venue capacity. Proof of vaccination or a negative test is required to participate in the Convening. |

Convening Kick-off ToursAttendees should review tour options (you'll have an email with details) and select if they would like to participate in the "Ninth Ward Seeking Freedom" or "Seventh Ward Stories" tour. Each tour visits various local organizations and projects in New Orleans. Attendees will gather at the Tidewater building for a brief welcome and introduction before departing. All attendees will have the opportunity to attend two guided tours, one at this time and the second on Saturday morning over the two-day gathering. |

Social Roundtable LunchesChoose to lunch with small groups at various New Orleans restaurants with guided discussions and social time. Attendees select their lunch-spot at registration. Space is limited at each restaurant. Roundtable lunches will be lead by a host with a different topic of conversation at each. Attendees will be responsible for their own lunch costs. |

Community WorkshopLead by local organizations, Alembic Community Development and the Leona Tate Foundation for Change, the community workshop will focus on examples of work in New Orleans. Attendees will hear the history and learn about projects in action, both with successes and failures. The workshop will then focus on the hard questions about how to equitably engage community, develop shared values, and work within realistic constraints. |

Advancing ACD WorkshopFocused on hearing from the attendees about what support and resources are needed to help advance community design, this workshop is intended to help serve as a visioning for the future years of ACD. As the organization works to continue advancing racial and social justice, identifying programs, resources, and opportunities to better serve members is a priority. ACD Board Members will lead guided workshops on community membership and fellowship, education and engagement, and equity building. All attendees will come together to close the event with reflection and a call to action. |
