Speaker Bios:

Craig Stevenson is a visual designer/educator and arts advocate. A Chicago native, he is currently exploring the systematic empowerment of sustainable communities through design and alternative health. Most of this work being explored with +space whose mission is to activate and revitalized underutilized spaces.

Cory Stevenson has worked as a Graphic Specialist with the U.S. Census Bureau as part of the creative team charged with creating and implementing a creative strategy for the 3-states Chicago region, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Stevenson formerly worked for the Cook County Law Library, in the IT department, assisting the Systems Administrator with running the Law Library’s Local Area Network and with graphic design needs. Teaching and helping others realize their dreams has led Stevenson and his twin brother to freelance visual consult, allowing him to utilize the skills they developed at the University of Minnesota.

Embodied Practice Workshops are opportunities to hear from practitioners designing solutions to oppressive systems with tools that transcend the traditional design fields. These leaders center liberation and healing practices without which we cannot achieve an equitable built environment. We offer this workshop series to address our members as whole people in need of healing and liberatory practices, in hopes that these strategies and experiences may enrich and inspire more creative and robust design justice practices. Embodied Practice Workshops are hosted by Association for Community Design, and organized by the Fellowship Committee.
