About ACD44
The Association for Community Design invites our members, collaborators, partners, and friends to join us online September 23rd - 25th for our 2021 conference; Intersections of Justice.
Last year, the ACD Conference was a moment to pause, reflect, and recenter ourselves and our design practices amidst an unprecedented public health crisis and a massive reawakening to our nation’s continued 400-year racial justice crisis.
Intersections of Justice will highlight work that reflects the need to collaborate across systems, to connect the dots between disciplines, and think differently about how we practice design. A variety of conference sessions will offer projects, ideas, and conversations that explore intersectional justice through design practice. Speakers will share work that puts radical politics into practice, work that actively disrupts systems of oppression, and work that demonstrates how design can be used as a tool to work towards collective liberation.
We encourage professionals and students from the disciplines of community design, urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, social design, and environmental design, and related fields including public health, policy-making, social work, art, community organizing, design thinking, tech, and development to be part of ACD this year.
